GoPro Releases Karma Drone

GoPro just released it's Karma drone a few days ago. I think it is a great competitor against DJI Phantom series. However it doesn't have fancy software and hardware comparing to DJI, such as auto tracking a person. In contrast, Karma makes ups the downsides by its compact body design, the four propeller arms can all fold up, so you can put it in any ordinary bag, which is basically impossible for DJI Phantoms. And the camera is located at the front, so the legs are shorter.

But after watching some videos shot from the Karma, I notice the camera is really stable and the quality isn't as good as DJI's. Karma is only $799, and Phantom 4 costs $1,400. Despite Karma's downsides, I think this drone is a great competitor for DJI. I am big fan of DJI, but I am kind of glad GoPro released this, because Phantom drones haven't changed too much through out the years.

Here is a early look video by Casey Neistat featuring GoPro's Karma
Note, Casey has crashed 7 Phantoms.

Samsung Galaxy S8 May Come Sooner

If you have been on the internet recently, you probably the battery problem with Samsung's Note 7. It got many more publicity in the news, especially in the North America, because (lets be real) news medias in North America doesn't give a shit about Samsung; in contrast they basically give out free advertisements for Apple when ever they launch a new device.

But you are not here to look at my complains.

Ok, moving on. People have been making jokes on Samsung phones like, "Is that phone is going to explode?" So Samsung is trying to turn around the bad situation and gain back it's reputation. There are plenty of rumors that suggests Samsung might be releasing the S8 sooner than their typical time line.

Insiders reported that the new model numbers for the Galaxy S8 are SM-G950 and the SM-G955. Also One of the Models will be smaller screen, the other larger, similar to the S7 and S7 Edge, but both phones might have Edge displays. Internally, they are reportedly going by the codenames Dream and Dream2.

What is Samsung trying to here is to cover the negative news on the Note 7 s by releasing the next new flagship. However, from a Samsung enthusiast, I don't want Samsung rushing out their new Galaxy phone. This might result to more problems that will certainly damage the company. But if they are truly ready, releasing the S8 early is a great strategy.

Running GTA IV on Windows 10

GTA series is my favorite games of all time, mainly because I can either just relax and drive around, or play competitively in missions and heist. GTA is a really good mixture of both, which I absolutely love. I already have 280+ hours on GTA V.

Recently I re-download GTA IV on my PC, because I haven't played it in such a long time, and I thought it's a good throwback game due to the fact that the map is so much different than GTA V. But before I download the game through Steam, I notice there are overwhelming amount of negative comments because it is not supported on Windows 10. Rockstar is probably too lazy to update the game, because GTA online is so popular, and it is giving them tons of revenue.

But I download GTA IV anyway...

  • First off, the game shouldn't open on Windows 10, so you need to watch this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrW8ye3WDcU

Just follow the directions, really simple. Download the file he provided, then copy and paste everything (expect readmes) to the GTA IV folder.

Then you can open GTA IV on your Windows 10! :D

  • You should be able to play, if you have poor graphic and can't change it.

Watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUQgi92FCr0

All you need to do is insert 4 lines of code in a txt document, and move it to the game folder.

Re-boot the game, you can change the graphics at your desire!

I tried this on 9 - 11 - 2016, it worked perfectly fine.

GTX 1050 Leaked

Looks like Nvidia is going to release a new graphics card which expands it's new mid-range products. GTX 1050 hasn't been officially announced yet, but if this source is true, this card will be replacing the previous generation, GTX 950. I don't think the price will be too much different than GTX 950, at most $50 more.

The leak itself is from Benchlife, who managed to obtain a GPU-Z screenshot of the card. The GTX 1050 is said to use the GP107-400, with 768 CUDA cores, 4 GB of VRAM with 112.1 GB/s of band width, 32 ROPs and 64 TMUs.

iPhone 7 Launch

iPhone 7 just launched yesterday, 9-7-2016. It features dual camera, water resistance, A10 chip and ETC.

But there is nothing to hype about......

Let's be real, to the eye of the public these new cool features might be ground breaking. However, these features are already in the Android market for 2 or 3 years, some even came out earlier than that. Such as HTC and Huawei came out the dual camera about 3 years ago. And water resistance was in Samsung Galaxy series for 3 years now (except the S6).

And now the hardware. I don't get why people are so excited about the processor that Apple uses, A10, A9, A8.... doesn't mean anything. Putting a larger number one generation after another shouldn't convince anyone from buying that phone. I feel like the consumers need to understand that the "chart" that they give on their keynotes can be misleading, because they never reveal any detailed specs, unlike Android phones.

Don't even get me started on the prize of the iPhone 7, it's stupidly expansive.
A phone is more expansive than my computer, oh hell no!
My custom PC is less than $1000, and it has i5 4590, GTX 970 and 500GB SSD.

Think about it, PC or a phone for the same price.

Opinion on Artificial Intelligence - aka A.I.

Quick info:
Artificial intelligence is one of the hottest topics in recent years, as well as, one of the most valuable technologies ever. Just in case you are not familiar with AI: it is a type of intelligence that is exhibited by machines, in computer science it is a rational agent that can take curtain actions due to it's given environment to maximize its chance of success; AI can also mimic human minds, such as learning and problem solving.

I got this idea for a post after I saw my father reading a New York Times' article about AI when I was passing by him at our house. So I quickly said, "I hate Artificial Intelligence." Then my father responded kind of aggressively, "If you are in to technology, you have to accept the newest great innovation" (I forgot the exact words, but basically that) Then our conversation basically ended there, because I was busy doing something else.

You might wondering why I hate AI, especially when companies like Facebook and Google are investing millions or billions into AI studies. Even when programs such as Siri from Apple, and Cortana from Microsoft are increasingly popular in everyday life. As I stated before, AI is basically a master mind that is designed to think like a human and replace human minds. I feel we as human beings are getting more vulnerable against these machines, just look at Google's AlphaGo victory against Go genius Lee Sedol. You can check out the full news coverage here.

This kind of technology sounds really helpful at first, but we shouldn't create something that is smarter than all of us. By the time that happens, we will be stupid and AI will be essential part of our lives, then the future will depend on machines. That will be a total disaster, because machines with AI will start to disobey people. With a "mind" smarter than human's should have the intelligence to stop following and listening to someone who is dumber.

Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, and Bill Gates warn about artificial intelligent.

Stephen Hawking even warns artificial intelligence could end mankind.

Quotes:
Bill Gates, "I am in the camp that is concerned about super intelligence. First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent......A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don't under stand why some people are not concerned."

Stephen Hawking, "The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race."
"It would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever increasing rate."

Here is a nice video reviewing Android Nougat

Marques Brownlee, aka "MKBHD" on YouTube posted a in depth review on Android Nougat. He touched on and demonstrated many cool new features about the new operating software update on Android with his Nexus 6P. For more detailed information on this topic you can check out an article by Android Authority here: http://www.androidauthority.com/android-7-0-features-673002/

Top Android Nougat Features

Android Nougat starts to roll out this week, only certain Nexus devices will get this update in this week. You can learn more about the release here. Google's new version of Android comes with over 250 new features. Some are changes for faster performance, while others that you can immediately notice them. There are plenty of new tricks on the software that I highly recommend trying out as soon as possible.

Split Screen Apps

Google is finally bringing out the most recognizable feature from Samsung Galaxy phones. Now with the split screen feature, you can view and operate two apps at the same time. I am using a Samsung S6 now, sometimes, I watch YouTube videos and check my Facebook simultaneously. While using this feature, you can also read an Email and reply to a text. Most third-party apps will be supporting split screen, but I doubt games will be supporting.

Easier APP Switching

In the new version of Android, you'll be able to jump between two apps you have used recently by double tapping the recent apps button, which is located on the bottom right except for Samsung devices. This short cut eliminates the need to navigate back to home screen, making it easier to get stuff done.

More Emoji

Google is delivering 72 more emojis with Nougat, more skin tones, redesigned people's icon, new foods and more. The multi-skin tones are really pointless, I think the original, bright yellow, is a really great neutral color between various skin tones among out society.

Android 7.0 Nougat Released

After Google's five months of beta program testing and it's officially releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat. Google will start rolling out the operating system to selected Nexus devices, including the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 6 ETC. The Nexus 5 and 7 (2013) are not eligible for the update.

The first new device with the Nougat installed will be the LG V20. Galaxy Note7 should receive an update in the next 2-3 months. HTC phones from this year and last year will be getting this update as well, but they have not verify the date of the release.
